You can tweak this drink if you want it sweeter or sourer by altering the amount of lemon juice you add. More lemon heads it towards Kamikazee territory, a little less makes it more like sweets.
It’s a bastardisation of another drink in one of my books, the Apricot Cocktail, which calls for apricot brandy, but I’ve got some brandy and a fresh bottle of peach liqueur to use up instead.
Named it after the cat.
How To Make: Faithful Buddy
- 35ml of Brandy
- 25ml of Gin
- 25ml of Peach Liqueur
- A dash of fresh lemon juice
- A glug of orange juice
- Garnish with an orange rind twist
- Preferred glass would be a cocktail glass
Shake everything with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with an orange rind twist, carved out over the drink so that the spritz coats the surface of the drink.
It will never let you down.
