A Gibson!
For me a Vodka Martini is usually with olives, and a Gin Martini is for a lemon twist. In some circumstances, my pining for a cocktail onion leads me to smash down a Gibson, which is a Gin Martini with those little pearls of joy.
This is a good drink to order if you want to figure out if a bar knows their onions.
How To Make: Gibson
- 50ml of Fine Gin
- A dash of Dry Vermouth
- Garnish with cocktail onions on a stick
- Preferred glass would be a frosted Martini glass
Stir the gin and vermouth with ice in a cocktail mixing jug. Strain into a chilled Martini glass.
Garnish with cocktail onions, preferably on a bamboo stick.
Drink it fast while it's still frosty, preferably listening to Jazz music, and optimally in NYC with a guy named Angus Loten.
