Served in the conventional fashion

I usually like my Negronis served as you would a Manhattan or a Martini; mixed and strained straight-up into a chilled cocktail glass.

I love a straight-up drink in a chilled cocktail glass. It’s a window of time where the moment is dedicated to enjoying the cocktail exclusively while it is at its best.

Today though was one where my tasks were not exclusive to enjoying the drink alone, so the build had to be in the conventional fashion…

How To Make: Classic Negroni

Served in the conventional fashion

  • 35ml of Gin
  • 35ml of Martini Rosso
  • 35ml of Campari
  • A dash of Angostura Bitters
  • Garnish with an orange slice
  • Preferred glass would be a rocks glass or medium sized tumbler

The Negroni is the champion of all cocktails.

Stir everything together with ice in a glass mixing jug. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Add a slice of orange, maybe giving it a bit of a twist and rub it around the rim of the glass.

You could also just mix it all into an ice-filled tumbler, and give it a stir. It all depends on how much fuss you'd like to work into the process.

This one cocktail which is worth the fuss.
